ReplyDeleteI made a really pretty cardigan with Cascade 220. Unfortunately I didn't check my gauge so it is a little small. It was the first sweater I ever made and an educational experience. I now knit gauge swatches and it gave me a lot of confidence to complete a project like that! I also made a really pretty scarf that I will enjoy this coming winter with some 220. Love the softness and stretch!

ReplyDeleteMy favourite Cascade project is the first sweater I knit without a pattern. It's in purple 220, a bit itchy, so I use it as an outside sweater, always worn over something. I love it. Top-down raglan with 3/4 length sleeves. Classic! Special mention goes to my first project EVER, a catnip whale knit out of Cascade 220 green heather. ReplyDeleteMy first and only attempt at knitting argyle in the round was a hat (complete with ear flaps and a pompom on top) that I knit for my then boyfriend, now husband. Since then, I've been slowly adding to my Cascade stash for a "someday blanket." I'm currently working on a cotton log cabin blanket for my baby boy, but I would love to make a wool blanket to keep by the couch for family snuggles!

ReplyDeleteIt had its world première at Twickenham a couple of years ago at a Six nations match but during the celebrations that followed, the idiots left it in a pub. I have always wondered what happened to it. Bit like a Mayfly - it only lived for a day but what a day!It even appeared on TV during the match, talk about .15 seconds of fame.....

ReplyDeleteMy all time favorite project with Cascade yarn is your Flirty Skirt Pattern, free on your website using Cascade 220 in a heather spice color (can't remember the exact color, but one of my favorite go to colors). My friends are making it too. I wore it to Vogue Knitting Live and got so many compliments on it. It is so easy to make, looks fantastic and takes no time to make.

ReplyDeleteAfter a few prayer shawls of masculine colors, I completed a shawl based on scarf pattern using pink and green (aka preppy colors) from 220 Superwash.
ReplyDeleteRecently I discovered an unfinished blanket The pattern used blocks of purple, gold, and white from 220 Superwash. I plan to complete it this fall.
I made an entrelac pillow out of Cascade Casablanca...GREAT COLORS!!

ReplyDeleteI have been using Cascade 220 Superwash to make baby blankets. I have 4 friends pregnant with 5 babies all due by the end of November. 2.5 down, 2.5 to go! Whew!

ReplyDeleteI made a great pair of gansey socks with Cascade 220....my husband loved them so much that I gave them to him:) I will make a pair for myself one of these days...220 is just awesome!
ReplyDeleteI use Cascade a lot...but my latest project is the Sideways Ripple shawl I made with Cascade 220. I chose Cascade because of the huge color selection, and I wanted just the right shades of gray and yellow. It's perfect!

ReplyDeleteI love Cascade 220. My favorite projects have been a hat and mitten set and then just a set of mittens. I love the feel and colors of the yarn.
ReplyDeleteMy very favorite project is Nicky Epstein's Floral Felted Bag. It was my first intarsia and felted project and I used eight different colors of Cacade 220 wool. ReplyDeleteMy favorite project for Cascade 220? A very warm and comfy set of Pretty in Polka Dots Fingerless Gloves by Brittany Jones on Ravelry! I substituted the colors buttercup and natural for the recommended materials, Vickie Howell's Sheepish Yarn in (Yellow)ish and Red Heart Shimmer in Ivory.

ReplyDeleteI love the 220 yarns. In wool I have made a sweater a a couple of felted purses. In Venezia, I've made a lace wrap, in the retro another sweater, in the super wash, I've made slippers and a another sweater. I have a tub of Cascade, from sock to bulky. I hope I win!
