Fairy Tale Knits

Found a really cute book this week - 'Fairy Tale Knits: 32 Projects to Knit Happily Ever After' written by Alison Steward-Guinee (published by Wiley).  The book uses simple shaping and seemless-construction and covers a wide range of skill levels and sizes for infants through 8 year olds.  The projects will appeal to children's imaginations with pirates, magic carpets, princesses, kings, knights, mermaids, and fairies to guide them. These adorable sweaters  are called Hansel and Gretel - Sweater and Jumper.  They are knit in 220 Superwash for sizes 6-12 mos, 2 yrs, 4 yrs, and 6 yrs. Sweater - MC 819 - 2-3 balls, CC1 891 and CC2 822 - 1 ball each Jumper - MC 819- 3-5 balls, CC1 822, CC2 839, CC3 891 - 1 ball each. There are felted slippers and a felted holiday stocking knit in Cascade 220.  Also in Cascade 220, is Robin Hood tunic.  Renaissance Man Tunic uses 4-6 balls of 220 Superwash - color 856. In the Magic Carpet chapter there are 2 blankets using Cascade 220.

Magnum quick knits

Magnum  is a great fast knit.  With the holidays quickly approaching and winter making an early appearance, these are great projects to do in an evening and are free downloads on the Cascade Yarns Free Patterns Page . The One Show Scarf  uses 1 skein of Magnum and knits up easily in an evening. Tammy Knox in the office designed the Cascading Waves Boa  - a quick crochet project that uses 2 colors of Magnum and a size P crochet hook.
