Coco the Canister Monster Designed by Rebecca Danger Published in The Big Book of Knitted Monsters  (published by Martingale) Knit in Magnum (100% Peruvian Highland Wool - 123 yds/250 g) - shown in 9465B - 1 skein This adorable monster will knit up quickly on size US 13 needles.  One of 20 patterns in Rebecca Danger's book - The Big Book of Knitted Monsters,  I think this is one monster you wouldn't mind lurking around.

Mochimochi Land at VK Live Anna Hrachovec put together a smaller version of her show that was on exhibit in New York this past fall at VK Live.  She added a giant Mochi girl sitting on top of the mountain (which caused all of the goats to fall down).  The exhibit is knit from Heritage, Cascade 220, and Cascade 128.  Both the exhibit and her book reflect her whimsical and creative designs.

Udderly Devine Bag Designed by Lucy Neatby Published in Patternfish Knit in Cascade 220  "A lightly felted bag, worked in the round with two-colour stranded knitting in a Holstein Cow pattern," says Neatby. "Culminating in an udder with four teats set in using waste yarn. "The strap is cast-on and then threaded through the bag loops (already incorporated in the top of the bag)." In classic Neatby style, the bag is creative and witty. There are several options including yarn dispensing teats and veins for an authentic look.

Winterside Designed by Sarah Grieve Published in Knit Circus - Winter 2010 Knit in Cascade 220 (100% Peruvian Highland Wool - 220 yds/100 g) - 6-11 skeins Sizes - 32-40" This is a fun-to-wear sweater. Made out of 100% wool, it’s nice and warm, making it perfect to be sitting & knitting or out & about in the snow. It’s a quick knit because the sleeves and the tops of the sweater are knit in one piece and then grafted together. Then the stitches are picked up around the waist and a fair isle band is knitted following a chart. The band of stranded knitting is a great way to learn to knit stranded patterns because it’s not too hard! Then the rest of the bottom is knitted downwards. There is a significant amount of yardage because of the changing colors. For size XL/40”, it is possible that 1 skein may be sufficient; but it is recommended to buy a second skein available as “insurance”. The front is not worked as wide as back. Treccia Designed by Susanna IC Published in Knit Circus - Winter 2010 Knit in Baby Alpaca Chunky (100% Baby Alpaca - 108 yds/100 g) - 7 skeins Treccia (Italian, meaning ‘twist’, ‘plait’, ‘braid’) is inspired by the luxurious fur wraps of a bygone era. Because the unusual shape allows the shawl to stay put, Treccia can be worn simply draped without tying or pinning. The wrap is generously sized and worked in a snuggly alpaca yarn, so it will keep the cold away even on the frostiest winter day. Treccia combines textured mock rib stitches with architectural cables resulting in a project with plenty of visual interest. It is knitted with chunky yarn starting at the top of a five-segment wedge that forms the center of the shawl. Stitches are then picked up on each side of the wedge to form the elongated ends that decrease in width along the bottom edges.
