Highlights from the Cascade Sheep's Visit East - Part 1

The Cascade Sheep was very busy last week....


Last Monday the Cascade Sheep stopped by several yarn stores in New York City.
  
The first stop was Knitty City - 208 W 79th St - New York, NY 10024.  He found Cascade 220, 128 Superwash, Heritage, and more.





The next stop was Downtown Yarns - 45 Avenue A - New York, NY 10009.  There was Cascade 220, Sierra, and a variety of other yarns.

Tuesday started with a visit to Close Knit - 300 Franklin Ave; Wyckoff, NJ 07481.  The Cascade Sheep really liked the cozy cowl knit in the Baby Alpaca Chunky and the other projects around the store.

Next stop was Knitting Nation - 30 N Broadway, Nyack, NY 10960.  Cascade Sheep found a nice cuddly scarf out of Baby Alpaca Chunky.
The last stop for Tuesday was The Stitchery - 49 E Central Ave; Pearl River, NY 10965.  There were several beautiful projects that caught the Cascade Sheep's eye including a textured man's vest knit in Eco Wool and an Entrelac blanket in Eco Duo.



 On Wednesday, Cascade Sheep got to see Purl Soho's new location - 459 Broome St; New York, NY 10013.  He found Cascade 220, 128 Superwash, Eco Wool, Eco Duo, Magnum, and wall to wall color from floor to ceiling.

Honeycomb Cable Hat - Greenland

I got the brilliant idea this year to knit a number of people gifts.  I managed to finish 6 projects in the month of December and write out the patterns for most of them.  One of my favorites was this lovely cabled hat knit in Greenland .  Greenland is one of my favorite yarns - it has this amazing springy twists and has fabulous stitch definition.  Sadly, I seem to never get a chance to knit it. The finished hat shown is for an average adult - finished (unstretched) measurement is 7" wide and 8" long from the cast on edge.  I cast on 88 stitches.  It can easily be adapted to be smaller (cast on 80 stitches) or larger (cast on 96 stitches).
