Boo the Bat Designed by:  Anna Hrachovec  - Mochimochi Land Knit in Cascade 220 (100% Peruvian Highland Wool - 220 yds/100 g) This little bat is a quick knit featuring wraparound wings and feet that can hang from your finger or the nearest tree branch. Techniques include knitting in the round on double-pointed needles, picking up stitches, and mattress stitch. Finished size: about 4” tall; wingspan is about 8” wide.

Great Yarns ! Everett, WA Last week, I got a chance to stop and see Fontelle Jones at Great Yarns!, an appropriately named yarn store that has been around since 1984. 128 Superwash - 100% Merino Superwash - the cute jacket is an original design. Pure Alpaca - 100% Baby Alpaca (also available in the undyed version - Eco Alpaca - all the garments are original designs of Fontelle Jones/Great Yarns! Eco Duo - 70% Baby Alpaca/30% Merino Wool -  soft and luscious - another design of Great Yarns!/Fontelle Jones.

Knitted Angel Afghan Designed by Nicky Epstein "Angel blocks, star blocks, and small diamonds are crocheted together to make this heavenly afghan," says Epstein. "A duplicate stitch along with embroidery and a connecting crochet stitch are the techniques used. The border is a bold rib stitch, and the four corners are adorned by four wrapped tassels with knitted gold necks. An alternate version with a white background is also shown." This magnificent piece is distilled Epstein: the wonderful use of intarsia, the sumptuous colours, and the sensual depth of the fabric all combine to make a treasure for your living room or bedroom. Epstein notes that the original yarn has been discontinued, and suggests Cascade 220 as a substitute.

Sophia Top Designed by: Diane Zangl Knit in Pima Tencel - 50% Pima Cotton/50% Tencel - 89 yds/50 g - 10-14balls #0030 Natural (MC); 2-3 balls each #9518 Peach (A), #9719 Lemon (B), #8437 Mint (C) Cool cotton fabric takes a new twist when worked in an alternating 2/2 rib. This slightly snug (but not tight) top is a great go-everywhere garment – worn alone on a warm spring day, or under a light coverup when the temperatures turn cooler. Bands of sherbet colors that are worked slightly narrower than the overall pattern highlight the lower edge. Neckline and arm edges are finished with my unique Bound-Off Braid (BOB© for short). The hip length style flatters all figures.

From the Top Down - Aran Sweater Desgined by:  Charlotte Pine Knit in Cascade 220 - 100% Peruvian Highland Wool - 220 yds/100g - 8 skeins color 8415 Size Large Charlotte Pine knit this Aran sweater to satisfy the Master Knitter Requirement and is knit from the top down in one peice.  The sleeves are shaped with short rows and the neck can be finished two different ways. Also in this issue is a Top-Down Raglan Pulloever Lesson by Molly Ferante.  A Child's Top-Down Pullover was knit in Cascade 220 - color 2415 (3-4 skeins).  The finished sizes are 26" (28, 30, 32)".  This is a great introduction for anyone who has ever wanted to knit a top-down sweater.

The lace insert is optional, if desired you can work the Zoe Cardi without lace, for a simple anytime cardi. Zoe is a great little summertime cardi--but don’t forget about her in the winter. Made from a great worsted wool or alpaca, she would be a perfect anytime cardi all winter long. Maybe with a zipper....
